Saint Augustine, Fla – In the final Winter Series of the 2024 calendar year, Ryan Mulhern (Mid-Amateur), Charles Kirk (Senior) and Earl Lanoue (Super-Senior) win at Slammer & Squire – World Golf Village in the Individual Modified Stableford event. This was event number four of the 10 event long Winter Series season, and the first of two Modified Stablford events.
Mid-Amateur
Ryan Mulhern finished the week atop the Mid-Amateur division, narrowly edging Thad Hudgens by one point. Mulhern finished the week with 77 points, 38 points in Round 1 which included three birdies and 39 points in Round 2, including four birdies. Starting the final round one point behind Hudgens, Mulhern took the lead early in the round and never gave it back. This was Mulherns first career Winter Series win.
Senior
In the Senior Division, it was Charles Kirk who took home the title at Slammer & Squire. After opening with 42 points in Round 1, Kirk took the overnight lead. Three birdies in Round 2 and 39 points would be enough for Kirk to hold on to the lead eventually finishing one point ahead of Chad Ibbotson who finished in second. This was also Kirk’s first Winter Series title.
Super-Senior
Earl Lanoue went wire-to-wire in the Super-Senior division to take home his first Winter Series win of the 2024 year. Lanoue carded 45 points in Round 1 giving him a 7-point lead heading into Round 2. He didn’t slow down in the final round, carding 5 more birdies en route to 87 total points and a 5 point victory. Mike Corbin made a final round push with 44 points to finish in solo second.
