Palm Coast, Fla. – Three players took home Winter Series wins on Tuesday at The Conservatory at Hammock Beach. Kevin Macy was victorious in the Super-Senior division, Chad Ibbotson captured the win in the Senior division, and Abiel Morales earned the Mid-Amateur title.
Mid-Amateur
Morales finished with a two-under par 142 to secure the two-shot victory in the Mid-Amateur division. He sat one shot off the lead heading into the second round after an opening round of one-under par 71. After an opening bogey to start the final round, Morales made the turn at one under and finished with nine straight pars.
Alex Bury finished solo second at even-par 144 with a great second round of 68.
Senior
Ibbotson finished his last nine holes in three-under par to pick up the win in the Senior division at two-under 142. The Sanford native carded four birdies during Tuesday’s second round to post an even-par 73 and secure his title.
Kevin Sullivan and William Shufelt finished T-2 at one-over 145. Kevin with fired one of the low rounds of the event with a four-under 68 to move up 14 spots. William was steady both days with rounds of 72-73.
Super-Senior
Kevin Macy earned the title in the Super-Senior division by 1-shot, finishing at four-under par 140. He got the tournament started with a one-under 71 in the first round to be two-shots behind the leader, Mike Corbin who fired a 3-under par 69. The Tampa native used a final-round 69 to take home the win.
Bruce Moskovciak finished second at three-under 141, with rounds of 71-70. Finishing in a three way tie for third at even par 144 was Mike Corbin, Tom Grady and Bill Hardaker.
