BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. – Three players took home Winter Series wins on Tuesday at Indian Springs Country Club. Andrew Sharp was victorious in the Mid-Amateur division, Luc Guilbault captured the win in the Senior division, and Stephen Fox earned the Super-Senior title.
Mid-Amateur
Sharp finished the week with a 12-over 154 to secured the six-shot victory in the Mid-Amateur division. He sat two shots back of the leader, after a first-round 80, in a tie for second. Jason Coolik took the first-round lead with a 7-over 78.
Getting off to a strong start in the final round, Sharp birdied back-to-back holes on the second and third and made the turn at 2 over. The Boca Raton native birdied the final hole of the day to secure the win with a final-round 74.
Coolik finished in second place at 18-over 160, after a final-round 82, while Mark Allen used rounds of 80-81 to finish third.
Senior
Guilbault used the low round of the tournament to pick up the win in the Senior division at 3-under 139. The Boynton Beach native carded five birdies during Monday’s first round to post a 2-under 68 and take the first-round lead. His first-round 68 was the low round of the tournament.
Beginning the final round with a five-shot lead, Guilbault kept it rolling with an even-par front side. He added two birdies on the back, including one on the final hole, to secure the seven-shot victory with a final-round 71.
Brian Kennedy and Douglas Jones finished the week in a tie for second at 4-over 146, with both players posting round of 74-72.
Super-Senior
Fox earned the five-shot win in the Super-Senior division, finishing the week at 4-over 146. He got the tournament started with a 1-over 72 in the first round to take a two-shot lead over the field. The West Palm Beach native used a final-round 74 to take home the win.
Joe Shaktam finished second at 9-over 151, with rounds of 74-77. Jeffrey McGregor earned third place, finishing the weekend at 12-over 154.
