The 75th Four-Ball Championship began its new 54-hole format on Friday morning in Palm Coast with 52 teams fighting to etch their name on the Four-Ball trophy. The course was in fantastic shape and with very little wind, players had great conditions for scoring.
The Conservatory provides a great test of golf, with its lush paspalum grass and a layout that can be stretched as long as you desire are just a few of the characteristics making it a great championship test. Hosting numerous FSGA events, the club is consistently enjoyed by players, showcasing its championship-worthy qualities.
A fast start Friday morning had the lead climb to 7 or 8 under for most of the early part of the day. Santos-Ocampo & Solimene, teeing off near the end of the field, started hot on the more on their first nine, birdieing 10, 12, 14,15, and 18 to turn at 5-under. There are 14 teams within just four shots of the lead heading into Saturday’s second round.
