Saint Augustine, FL – The team of Ty Capps and Tyler Gulliksen captured a victory this weekend at the Foursomes Championship at Slammer and Squire at the World Golf Village. This championship consists of 36 holes of gross foursomes stroke play. A foursome is a two-person team event where one team member tees off on the odd holes and the other partner tees off on the even holes. The single ball in play is then played alternately into the hole by the team partners, also know as alternate shot.

The championship began on Friday and the team of Nolan/Riley held the lead after posting a three-under par 69. Capps/Gulliksen sat tied for second place after the first round, posting a score of one-over par 73. However, the pair came to play for the second round firing a five-under par 67, which was the low round for the entire tournament across all divisions. Capps/Gulliksen carded eight birdies during the second round to win by five strokes over Golden/Kleinrock. In addition, Smith/Davenport finished in third place with Nolan/Riley.

Senior Division

Steven Ray and Bob Mathers captured a wire-to-wire victory in the Senior Division. The duo posted rounds of 72-74 to win by three strokes over Doug Snoap and William Stanton. Ray/Mathers carded eight birdies over two rounds.

In addition, Snoap/Stanton finished in second place with rounds of 75-74 and Brewer/Moody finished in third place with rounds of 77-73.

Super-Senior Division

The team of James Starnes and Marcus Beck captured the victory in the Super-Senior Division after winning in a one-hole playoff. Starnes/Beck outlasted both Hardaker/Nagy and Anthony/Sponder after each team finished the two days with a tournament total of eleven-over par.

In addition, Hardaker/Nagy finished tied for second place with Anthony/Sponder. The team of Cullman/Lay secured third place only one stroke behind.
