ENGLEWOOD, Fla. – Four players picked up Florida Junior Tour wins on Sunday at the Myakka Pines Golf Club. Lucas Gimenez earned his second FJT win in the Boys 11-12 Division, and Niko Gordic-Ronderos captured his third-straight victory the Boys 9-10 Division.
In the Girls 11-12 Division, Honorine Nobuta Ferry captured her fourth FJT win and Alexandra Phung took home the win in the Girls 9-10 Division.
Boys 11-12
Gimenez took home his second FJT win in commanding fashion, finishing the week at 2-under 143 and one-shot victory. Colton started the tournament with a 2-under 70 in Saturday’s first round to sit in a tie-for-second place.
Starting the final round one shot behind the leader, Gimenez posted a 1-over 73 to capture the victory, finishing the day with four birdies. Luke Parsons finished second at even-par 144, posting rounds of 70-74. Jude Desmond used rounds of 74-72 to finished third at 2-over 146.
Nemo Tsai, who held the first-round lead, finished tied for fourth with Jaden Peterson at 3-over 147. Tsai’s first-round 69 was the low round of the tournament, birdieing four of his first four holes of the day.
Girls 11-12
Ferry earned her fourth-straight FJT on Sunday, finishing the tournament at even-par 144. The Pinehurst, North Carolina native carded a 3-over 75 in the first round to take the first-round lead.
Ferry got off to a quick start in the final round, birdieing her first two holes of the day, posting an even-par front nine. She used a 1-under back nine, with three birdies, to secure the win with a final-round 69.
Sofia Cherif Essakali took a runner-up finish at 2-over 146, while Jolie Pastorick finished third at 8-over 152.
Boys 9-10
Gordic-Ronderos posted a 6-over 150 to capture the four-shot victory and his third FJT win. The Bradenton native used a four-over 76 to take a one-shot lead after the first round. He carded a 2-over 74, with three birdies, to take home the victory.
Bento Assis finished second at 10-over 154, with rounds of 82-72, while Josiah Joseph took third place at 16-over 160.
Girls 9-10
Phung took home her first FJT win of the year with a 2-over 146 for the weekend. After the first round, Pedrique sat in second place at 1-over 73, one shot behind the leader. She posted another 73 in the final round, finishing the day with a bogey-free back nine, to earn the six-shot victory.
Marley Pedrique captured second place with a 8-over 152, while Rain Jiang finished third place with a 30-over 174.
