Amateur Match Play Championship

All players traveling to University Park Country Club  are guaranteed an 18-hole seeding round and at least one round of match play. After the 18-hole seeding round, the field of 96 will be divided into a Championship flight of 32 players and four additional flights of 16 players. Ultimately, there will be a Match Play Champion (from the flight of 32) and four separate flight winners.

At University Park Country Club, golfers will enjoy the 27 holes of championship golf designed by Ron Garl. Each 18-hole combination boasts its own distinct set of challenges and no two rounds are ever the same. Lush fairways traverse the natural woodlands and native habitat that have been painstakingly conserved to create a playing experience unlike any other. 

ELIGIBILITY

Must be a member of the FSGA.

ENTRY FEE

$205 ($195 for online entry). Includes carts and fees for all competitive rounds and prizes.

EXEMPTIONS

Players in the following categories will be eligible for exemption from the seeding round and will be directly placed into the Championship flight provided they meet all entry and eligibility requirements.

  • Previous year’s Match Play Championship semifinalists
  • Current Amateur Champion
  • Previous year’s Mid-Amateur Champion
  • Special Exemptions as selected by the FSGA

FLIGHTS

All non-exempt competitors will play an 18 hole stroke play seeding round on Thursday to determine seed within each flight.

Five flights begin match play on Friday morning. Only the championship flight will play Friday afternoon. All five flights will play Saturday morning and afternoon with the finals for all five flights on Sunday morning. Winner of the championship flight will be the Match Play champion.Championship (32) and four other flights of 16 will be determined by the seeding round.

CARTS

Carts are included for all competitive rounds. Players are responsible for practice round cart fees.

DEFENDING CHAMPION

David Roschman, from Jupiter, defeated Brett Burton, of Stuart, 6 and 5 at Indian River Club in Vero Beach.

HANDICAP

No higher than 6.4.
