FJT Grasslands Open (16-18)

LAKELAND, Fla. – Clay Tucker and Claudia Hofmeister came out on top on Sunday at Grassland Golf & Country Club, picking up Florida Junior Tour victories. Tucker took home his second FJT win and Hofmeister earned her first FJT victory.
Tucker birdied the final hole of the tournament to secure his second FJT with a 9-under 135 for the tournament. Saturday’s first round saw a lot of red numbers in Boys’ Division, with 14 players finishing the first round under par.
Michael Weber took the first-round lead with a 7-under 65, the low round of the weekend. Tucker sat two shots back of Zhu after a first-round 69.
Beginning the final-round in a tie for seventh, Tucker got off to a hot start in the final round with three birdies on his first six holes, adding another on the ninth. He continued his strong play on the back side with back-to-back birdies on the 11th and 12th. Tucker birdied the final hole of the day to post a final-round 66 and secured the one-shot victory.
Two players finished the weekend in a tie-for-second place at 8-under 136: Danny Erickson and Reggie Zhu. Erickson put together rounds of 68-68, while Zhu used rounds of 67-69 to take a share of second.
Hofmeister fired the low round of the weekend, in the Girls’ Division, to earn her first FJT win at even-par 144. The Tampa native began the weekend with a 1-over 73 on Saturday to sit one shot back of the leader.
Hofmeister birdied three of her first six holes of the day to start the final round. She made the turn at 2 under for the round, before adding a 1-over back side. Hofmeister secured the two-shot victory with a final-round 71.
Ava Zeng finished second at 2-over 146 after rounds of 73-73, while Jade Scott used rounds of 75-72 to take third place.

How Entries are Accepted
- Players with an unused FJT exemption will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis (if submitted before the entry deadline).
- Players without an FJT exemption - all other entries are held until the entry closing date. Shortly after the closing date, a computer-generated random draw is performed to determine which entries are accepted, and the order of the alternates. All players are notified of their status after the random draw is conducted,
- An alternates list will be posted to the FSGA website under "Tee Times & Player Information".
- Entries submitted after the entry deadline will be added to the bottom of the alternates list or used to fill any openings in the field.

How to Enter
Entries are submitted through the FSGA website. To enter, each player must create an FSGA account on this website (free to set-up), purchase a current Junior Membership ($40), and have an active Florida GHIN Handicap (included in membership if golfer does not already have one). To proceed, click the "Enter" button above once entries have opened.
Late Entry Fee: A late fee of $10 will be applied to entries submitted after the close of entries date. The entry fee and late fee will only be applied if the player gets accepted in to the tournament field.
Practice rounds are available one week prior to the tournament on a space-available basis. Tee times are only available after 12:00 noon the weekend prior. The price for a practice round is to be determined. Please call (863) 680-1616 to arrange your practice round. The proper place to practice your golf swing is on the driving range, hitting multiple shots on the course, not filling divots, and not repairing ball marks are unacceptable and may cause removal from the tournament without a refund.
