Katelyn Huber

 Graden Lomax & Carlee Meilleur

 Phillip Dunham

OCALA, Fla. — Phillip Dunham, Graden Lomax, Katelyn Huber, and Carlee Meilleur defeated tough competition to earn victories at Ocala Golf Club, Feb. 16-17.

Boys 9-10

Two red numbers secured a first time victory for Graden Lomax, of Lutz! Lomax tied Jessy Huebner for the lead after round one scores of 71 (-1). Round two was Graden’s time to shine and he did not back down. Carding four birdies in his last seven holes, Graden finished with a three-under par 69 and two stroke victory. A four-under par total of 140 marks Graden’s first FSGA win since he started participating in 2017. Miles Russel, of Jacksonville Beach, overcame a first round 74, by posting six birdies in his final round, en route to a four-under par 68 and 142 (-2) second place finish. Huebner, of Port Saint Lucie, fell to third place after a second round of 73 for an even par 144 finish.

Boys 11-12

Impressive rounds propelled Phillip Dunham to first place at seven-under par 137.  Earning a wire-to-wire victory, Dunham, of Jacksonville, posted five birdies on his final nine holes of round one and a total of four birdies in round two for rounds of 68-69. Ocala Golf Club is Phillip’s second FJT win after his first win in 2018 at the Future’s Championship. Shawn Coultoff, of Winter Garden, and Nolan Harper, of Saint Augustine finished at four-under par 140 to tie for second place. Coultoff posted two under par rounds of 69-71 to finish in second place while Harper fired the tournament low round of 66 in round two to finish at 140.

Girls 9-10

Carlee Meilleur, of Lansdowne, Canada, seized a wire-to-wire win with steady rounds of 75-76—151. A nine stroke victory marks Meilleur’s first FJT win after finishing second in November 2018 at Royal St. Cloud. Angela Wang, of Windermere, posted rounds of 78-82—160 to finish in second place by nine strokes.

Girls 11-12

A playoff determined the first place winner after Katelyn Huber and Gianna Clemente tied at 139 (-5) after round two.  Huber, of Gainesville, seemed to prefer the back nine as she posted a total of seven birdies over two days on the final nine holes.  Rounds of 70-69 pushed Katelyn to the top. Clemente, of Estero, played strong with four birdies on the back nine of round one to finish with a 32 and 68 total. In her second round, Clemete turned at 34 to finish the last hole with a double-bogey and 71 final round. Katelyn and Gianna continued to a sudden death playoff to determine the winner. Katelyn captured the win with a par on the first playoff hole in her fist tournament with the FSGA! Ryleigh Knaub rounded out the top three with consistent rounds of 73-72—145.

Five FJT Standards

Competing at beautiful clubs around the state is a privilege and it is important for all of our players and parents to place value on the following five duties:

  • Say please and thank you to the club staff and our volunteers
  • Rake bunkers
  • Fix ball marks
  • Step on/repair your divots
  • Throw away your garbage! There should never be trash on the ground anywhere on the course (place trash in waste receptacles, golf carts or even your bag if no other place is available).

Showing Appreciation and Proper Manners - At all courses where juniors play, they should show appreciation to the members and staff. To all of our junior players, let's show the clubs that you are not only the most talented golfers in the country, but also the most respectful. A "thank you" to the club and taking care of the course are the best ways to make a positive impression on the club, fellow players, coaches and spectators.

Practice Rounds

Practice rounds are available one week prior to the tournament on a space-available basis. Tee times are only available after 12:00 noon on weekends. The price for a practice round is $25.00.

Please call 352-401-6917 to arrange your practice round.

Always remember, the proper place to practice your golf swing is on the driving range. Hitting multiple shots on the course, not filling divots, and not repairing ball marks are unacceptable and may cause removal from the tournament without a refund.

Players are not allowed to drive golf carts (must be 18 years old to drive a cart).
