FJT Jacksonville Beach Open (13-15)

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two first time FJT victories were captured by Lance Hollingshead and Alexandra Pool at Jacksonville Beach Golf Club. Despite the undulating greens and windy conditions, Hollingshead and Pool both prevailed to win by one stroke.
Boys 13-15
Lance Hollingshead, of West Palm Beach, defined the word consistency with two back-to-back rounds of 73 to earn first place by one stroke over Kelvin Hernandez, of Gurabo, PR. Hollingshead started the final round two strokes back of Taneesh Sirivolu. Sirivolu, of Orlando, took the round one lead after three birdies and an even par 71 finish.
Hollingshead started the final round strong with two birdies in the first three holes and another birdie on hole number eight to turn at 34 (-1). Erasing a two-stroke deficit with a steady final nine holes, Hollingshead secured first place at a 146 total. Hernandez climbed up the leaderboard after a first round 76 to finish in second place. Four birdies earned Hernandez a final round even par 71 to finish with a 147 total. Hollingshead earned his first FSGA victory in his second FJT event played!
Girls 13-15
The Miami Beach native, Alexandra Pool, captured a wire-to-wire victory in her first FJT event! It was a tight race at the top after round one. Pool took the lead by one stroke over Remi Bacardi, of Miami, and Elan Zhang, of Orlando, finished in third with a 78.
The final round came down to the wire as Pool carded one birdie on the par three, ninth hole to finish with a 79 and 155 total. Zhang lurked close behind, posting a second round of 78 to finish one stroke back of the lead. Despite Bacardi’s impressive front-nine of four birdies for a 33 (-2), Pool held onto the lead. Bacardi rounded out the top three, two-strokes back, with a 157 total. Pool earned her first FJT victory in Jacksonville!

How Entries are Accepted
- Players with an unused FJT exemption will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis (if submitted before the entry deadline).
- Players without an FJT exemption - all other entries are held until the entry closing date. Shortly after the closing date, a computer-generated random draw is performed to determine which entries are accepted, and the order of the alternates. All players are notified of their status after the random draw is conducted,
- An alternates list will be posted to the FSGA website under "Tee Times & Player Information".
- Entries submitted after the entry deadline will be added to the bottom of the alternates list or used to fill any openings in the field.

10:30 AM - 1:00 PM - Tournament Registration (near pro shop) 11:30 AM - 1:27 PM - Round one tee times off of the 1st and 10th tees
Sunday, February 14th
7:30 AM - 9:27 AM - Round two tee times off of the 1st and 10th tees
Awards presentation immediately following the completion of play
How to Enter
Entries are submitted through the FSGA website. To enter, each player must create an FSGA account on this website (free to set-up), purchase a current Junior Membership ($40), and have an active Florida GHIN Handicap (included in membership if golfer does not already have one). To proceed, click the "Enter" button above once entries have opened.
Late Entry Fee: A late fee of $10 will be applied to entries submitted after the close of entries date. The entry fee and late fee will only be applied if the player gets accepted in to the tournament field.
Practice rounds are available one week prior to the tournament on a space-available basis. Tee times are only available after 12:00 noon the weekend prior. The price for a practice round is $15.00 +tax. Please call 904-247-6184 to arrange your practice round. The proper place to practice your golf swing is on the driving range, hitting multiple shots on the course, not filling divots, and not repairing ball marks are unacceptable and may cause removal from the tournament without a refund.
