ORANGE PARK, Fla. - Saturday saw two standout rounds which sent two players to the top of the leaderboard Saturday. Those two players, Eric Zhao and Madison Moman, defended those leads on Sunday, winning their respective divisions at the FJT Eagle Harbor Open (13-15)
Boys (13-15)
Zhao, of Davenport, recorded eight birdies on Saturday, and finished the opening round at 6-under-par. He entered Sunday's final round five shots ahead of Ryan Houck and Vlad Alexander Bercea, who each shot 1-under 71. Zhao continued his dominant play on Sunday, posting a 2-under 70 to cement his 8-shot victory.
Houck, of Fleming Island, followed up with a 1-over 73 on Sunday. This was enough to put him into a tie for second-place with Lorenzo Rodriguez, of Miami. Rodriguez fired a 5-under 67 on Sunday after posting a 5-over 77 on Saturday. Rodriguez and Houck both finished the tournament at even-par.
Girls (13-15)
Moman, a Palm Beach Gardens resident, posted the low round for the girls on Saturday. She recorded seven birdies en route to a 5-under-par 67 to start the weekend. She entered Sunday with a 2-stroke lead over Remi Bacardi, who carded a 3-under 69 in the first round. Moman held on Sunday, finishing the tournament at 1-under, just a shot ahead of Angela Jiang.
Jiang, of Miami, posted a 2-over 74 on Saturday, but followed that up with a 2-under 70 on Sunday, securing a second-place finish at even-par. In third was Lisa Copeland, of Naperville, Illinois. Copeland shot 75-72 over the weekend to finish at 3-over for the tournament.
