Golovanov and Pedrique Win at Vineyards

NAPLES, Fla. – Matvey Golovanov and Layla Pedrique Win at Vineyards were victorious on Sunday at the Florida Junior Tour event at Vineyards Country Club. Golovanoy picked up his fourth FJT win of this season, while Pedrique secured her second victory of the season.
Boys (13-15)
Golovanov fired a final-round 65 to take home the three-shot victory at 7-under 137. He began the tournament with an even-par 72 to sit four shots back of the leader after the first round.
The Boca Raton native began the final round with a bogey-free front nine with two birdies. After four pars to start the back nine, Golovanov carded five-straight birdies to finish the day and secure the victory. His final-round 65 was the low round of the tournament.
Phillip Dunham and Shawn Coultoff finished the weekend in a tie for second at 4-under 140, both finish the weekend with two rounds of 70. Mateo Desmond and Diego Alvarez Perez took a share of fourth place at 2-under 142.
Girls (13-15)
Pedrique survived a playoff to take home the win on Sunday, finishing the weekend at even-par 144. She started the tournament with a first-round 73 to sit one shot back of the leaders.
The Palm Beach Gardens native got off to a steady start in the final round, playing the first nine holes at 1 over. Pedrique carded back-to-back birdies to begin her final nine, finishing the day in a tie for first with Staci Pla and Tsamue Wu at even-par 144. Pedrique birdied the first playoff hole to secure the victory.
Pla and Wu finished the weekend in a tie for second, while Junyuan Zhang took fourth place at 1-over 145.
