Two-Man Scramble Championship

PGA National Resort & Spa - Champion Course, Palm Beach Gardens, FL

July 29-30, 2023

Palm Beach Gardens, Fla – Marc Dull & Rhett Pooley won the Scramble Championship on Sunday at PGA National while Bobby Bird & William Mallon took home the Senior Division. Dull & Pooley took home the title in playoff fashion while Bird & Mallon won be eight.

Championship Division

Marc Dull and Rhett Pooley took home the Scramble Championship title on Saturday after firing rounds of 62-60—122.  The duo combined for 22 birdies over 36 holes, without a blemish on the scorecard.  After 36 holes and tied at the top with Bill Anderson & Blake Biggs, the two teams would head to the 18th tee at PGA National for the first playoff hole.  After a good ball off the tee, Dull & Pooley would find the green from 238 yards, leaving them 15 feet for eagle.  After Anderson & Biggs nearly holed their third from a green side bunker, Pooley stepped up and rolled in the eagle putt to secure the win.  The victory gives Dull his third Scramble Championship title, while giving Pooley his first after a runner-up finish last year.

Anderson & Biggs finished in solo second after the playoff loss and TJ Shuart & Scott Turner tied for third with Tiger Godwin & Brady Godwin.

Senior Division

Bobby Bird & William Mallon won the Senior Division title in blowout fashion as the two won by eight shots.  The duo got off to a hot start on Saturday, making eagle on their first hole of the day, the par 5 10th, and they never looked back.  Their opening 63 gave them a two shot lead heading into Sunday, and they followed it up with another 63, including 5 straight birdies in the middle of the round to put the tournament out of reach.  This is Bird & Mallon’s second win of the year together as they two won the Forty & Over Fourball (South) back in June.

Rick Rutter & John Bechard finshed in a tie for second with Greg Hendrix and Ray Wenck.
