Memorandum to Contestants

On behalf of the FSGA, congratulations on qualifying for the 99th Florida Amateur Championship.  We hope that you enjoy your experience in competing at a State Championship and take many favorable memories from your time at Fiddlesticks Country Club and Miromar Lakes Golf Club.

Please take time to carefully read through this information.  There are several important pieces of information contained here, some of which require action by you, by a certain time (e.g. hotel reservations, pre-registration, and practice rounds, etc.).  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the FSGA Championship Department at (813) 632-3742 or championships@fsga.org.

Pre-Registration Deadline

By 3:30 PM, Thursday, June 16th, each player who advanced through a qualifier must remit to the FSGA office, $135 per player for advance payment of Championship fees.  Championship fees include tee gifts, cart fees, and range balls for all rounds. Players must pay by credit card online through the My Account section.  Payment must be received by 3:30 PM, Wednesday, June 17th, or you will be withdrawn from the Championship. Exempt players are automatically pre-registered with a complete entry. 

To pre-register online:

• log on to the FSGA website at www.fsga.org using your email address and password
• click on "My Account" in the upper right hand corner of the homepage
• under "My Tournaments", click on the "Pre-Register" button to the right of the tournament name
• enter your credit card information and then click the "Charge My Card" button on the bottom right hand corner of the page 

Failure to meet this deadline will result in withdrawal of your entry.  The place will then be offered to an alternate.  

Tee Times & Groupings

Tee times and pairings groups will be arranged and posted on the FSGA website at www.fsga.org  on or before Monday June 20th. All competitors with a valid email address on file with the FSGA will have a link to the pairings emailed to them.

Practice Rounds

Practice rounds are available on a space available basis on both courses.  Practice rounds are restricted to after 12:00 PM on the weekend prior to the Championship.

All players must take a cart and the cost of the practice round, including range balls and cart, is $30 plus tax. Players are allowed unlimited practice rounds per course at the $30 plus tax rate.  Only exempt and qualifying participants may play practice rounds.

Practice Facilities

Fiddlesticks - open until sunset each day

Miromar Lakes - closed at 3:00 PM Wednesday and 5:00 PM Thursday and Friday 

Host Sites Policies & Dress Code

The membership and management at each facility would like all of you to enjoy your experience during the 99th Amateur Championship.

• Gentlemen are required to have shirts tucked in and hats worn properly while on the golf course. 
• The wearing of cargo shorts designed for golf are NOT permitted. 
• Players are encouraged to use the services of the clubhouse and grill room for food and beverage as well as the locker room and its services. 
• Gentlemen are prohibited from wearing their hats while in the clubhouse. 
• Each club strictly prohibits the use cell phones, ear pieces & blackberry’s etc, on the golf course and in the club house. Leave your cell phone in your car.

Remember that you are guests at Fiddlesticks Country Club and Miromar Lakes Golf Club and entries are subject to rejection or withdrawal at any time (including during the event). The reason for withdrawal may include improper attire and/or unbecoming conduct.

Food & Beverage

Players are not allowed to bring product on property. Please support the club and purchase your food and beverage at the club.  

Fiddlesticks - Breakfast sandwiches and drinks are available at the Cabana across located across the street from the clubhouse and in the Men's Grill. Lunch is available for purchase in the clubhouse.

Miromar Lakes - Breakfast will not be available at the club, please plan accordingly. The Half-Way House located at the clubhouse is open 7:00 AM - 12:30 PM and snacks and beverages. Lunch is available for purchase in the clubhouse beginning at 11:00 AM. Players and spectators do not have access to the Beach Club.

A beverage cart will NOT be on the course during the championship.

Carts & Caddies

All players must ride during the Championship rounds. Only players are allowed to ride in carts.  If a player employs a caddie, the caddie MUST walk and the player’s clubs must remain on the golf cart.

Spectator Carts

Due to the limited amount of golf carts at each club, spectator carts will not be permitted.

Player Check-In (Wednesday, Thursday & Friday)

Player check-in will only be at Fiddlesticks, on Wednesday 10:00 – 4:00 and again Thursday and Friday morning before the first round at both clubs.

Payment at Clubs

Both clubs accept Visa and MasterCard for any purchases. Cash is not accepted.
