Cockman and Lee Win Rain-Shortened Championship
St. Petersburg’s Ryan Cockman and Buddy Lee teamed to win the Net Two-Man Team Championship Sunday at Legacy Golf Club in Bradenton. Cockman and Lee, who both play out of Pasadena Yacht and Country Club, shot a net 60 to narrowly defeat four teams who were at 61.
Teams that were a stroke back included: Titusville’s Bill Lee and Ken Davidson; Stuart’s James Gallagher and Jupiter’s William Hulligan; Temple Terrace’s Steven Richards and Josh Burke; and Temple Terrace’s Brian Hawke and Gary Morris.
Due to heavy rains, the first round on Saturday was cancelled. Tournament officials decided the championship would be 18 holes and played on Sunday. The championship used four-ball net stroke play with individual players playing to 80% of their course handicap.
