The Harbor Course, designed by Pete Dye, incorporates tiered greens, undulating fairways and deep pot bunkers, to conjure up images of historic Scottish links and offer a challenge to the most seasoned golfers. Dramatic landscaping combines old world flavor with native Floridian foliage, adding distinction to this most unique golf course.
Entrants must both be female amateur members of the FSGA.
$375
Entry fee will include a lunch between matches on Saturday, and an awards lunch on Sunday.
Five Nine-Hole Net Matches will be played for all Flights except the Championship Flight played at Gross. Three Nine-Hole Matches will be played on Saturday, followed by two Nine-Hole Matches on Sunday. One (1) point will be awarded for each hole won, and for the overall nine-hole match winner. Half-points will be given for hole ties and an overall match tie. There will be no "accelerator point" given for winning multiple matches in-a-row, as this point system is not recognized by the USGA or the FSGA.
With the exception of the Championship Flight, strokes will be given based off of the lowest player's handicap in each match. The low handicap player will be playing scratch and will not be receiving any strokes; the strokes that will be received by the other three players will be based off of this low handicap of the group. Half strokes will be used if applicable.
In the case of a tie for any flight winner, the Committee will revert back to the original “head-to-head” match result between the two teams that are tied. The winner of that individual match will be the overall flight winner. In the case that the two teams are still tied after this procedure, the Committee will revert to the next highest seeded team in the flight and compare how each team competed against that team; the highest point total for this individual match is the winner.
48 teams; 96 players
The golf course will be set-up approximately 5700-5900 yards (Championship Flight) and 5200-5400 yards (All Other Flights).
Each player must have a Florida USGA GHIN Handicap no higher than 34.0. The handicap differential between partners may be no more than eight (8) strokes. If the differential is more than eight (8) strokes, the higher handicap will be reduced to allow for the difference.
There will be a Championship Flight as well as other Flights depending on the field size. Flights will be determined by the updated, combined USGA GHIN Handicap Indexes of the team. Flights will be comprised of six (6) teams with the same or similar combined handicap indexes. Strokes will be given based on lowest handicapped player in each match.
Both day 1 and day 2 will consist of an 8:00 AM shotgun start.
Practice rounds are available one week prior to the championship. Practice rounds may be played after 11:00 AM on the weekends. The price for a practice round is $30.00 + tax. Please call (772) 778-9200 to arrange your practice round. The proper place to practice your golf swing is on the driving range, hitting multiple shots on the course is unacceptable.
Carts are included for all competitive rounds. Players are responsible for practice round fees.
