LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - Three teams were crowned champions at the Men's Net Four-Ball Championship on Sunday at Walt Disney World's Magnolia Course. Patrick Brisley and Andy Weber were the champions in the Under 50 Division. Arne Victorine and Kevin Hewlett took the title in the 50-64 Division, while Brian Carroll and Dennis Natale won the 65 and Over Division. 

Brisley and Weber prevailed in the Under 50 Division, carding an 11-under 133 over the two-day championship. Brisley and Weberheld fired a 7-under 65 on Saturday to take a one-stroke lead into the final round. The pair shot a four-under 68 on Sunday to capture the title. This was Weber's second FSGA championship of the 2018 season, he won the Men's Net Championship in September. 

In the 50-64 age division, Victorine and Hewlett were the champions, after shooting the low round of the day on Saturday, 10-under 62. The pair shot a 6-under 66 on Sunday to finish the championship with a 16-under 128. 

After two rounds, the 65 & Over Division came out to a three-way tie. Carroll and Natale, James C. Weed and Dwaine Zitko, and Kevin Hyman and David Norka all finished the championship with a 14-under 130. Carroll and Natale captured the championship in a score card playoff with a final-round score of 9-under 63. The pair was in sixth place following an opening round 5-under 67, but went on to card the lowest round of the day on Sunday to take the title.

~ Magnolia Course~

$125 per competitor ($250 per team)

Named for its majestic magnolia trees and host site of many PGA Tour events, the Magnolia course features elevated tees, spacious greens and challenging water hazards. Wide fairways invite you to hit the ball and hit it long, but beware - 11 of the 18 holes boast water hazards and 97 bunkers dot the landscape. Championship Format

  • 36 Holes of Net Four-Ball Stroke Play
  • All players will play to 90% of their lowest index (LI) for the previous 12 months
  • The course handicap differential between partners may be no more than eight (8) strokes. (If the differential is more than eight (8) strokes, the higher course handicap will be reduced to allow for the difference).
  • Both team members will play the same set of tees based on the age of the younger team member.

Championship Field Size

  • Maximum of 52 teams - 104 players

Eligibility

  • Male amateur golfer and a member of the FSGA
  • A valid Florida GHIN Handicap no higher than 24.0
  • Must be 18 years of age or older by the first day of the Championship.
  • Players earn exempt status if both partners have won a One-Day Net Four-Ball during the 2018 season playing together as partners. Winning will give the players the option to bypass their second event.
  • Each player must have played in at least 2 One-Day events and register a score from January 1, 2018 through the close of entries on, November 14, 2018.
  • Entries are first come first serve and are charged after each player has completed their 2nd event and a score is registered.

Entry Fee

$250 *Price per team* - Entry fee includes both competitive rounds, cart fees, tee gift, and gift certificate prizes

Late entries will be accepted subject to a $10 late entry fee should the entrant gain acceptance into the field.

Entry Priority

Entries will be accepted based upon the order of receipt. Entries received after the competitive field is full or after the close of entries, will be placed on an alternates list. Alternates will be contacted in the order of receipt of entry, if and when, a spot becomes available.

Handicaps

  • Must have a Florida GHIN Handicap no higher than 24.0.
  • All players will play to 90% of their lowest index (LI) for the previous 12 months

  • For the purpose of the lowest index (LI) for the previous 12 months, the November 15, 2018 handicap revision will be included

Saturday, December 1st
  • 8:00 AM - Round One shotgun start 
Sunday, December 2nd
  • 8:00 AM - Final Round shotgun start 
  • Awards ceremony immediately following the completion of play

Course Set-up

  • Under 50 Age Division - 6,500 yards approximately 
  • 50-64 Age Division - 6,200 yards approximately 
  • 65 & Over Age Division - 5,800 yards approximately

Practice Round and Practice Facility Information

Practice rounds are available one week prior to the championship on a space available basis. Practice rounds may be played after 12:00 PM Friday - Sunday. The price for a practice round is $45.00 plus tax. Please call 407-939-4653 to arrange your practice round. The proper place to practice your golf swing is on the driving range, hitting multiple shots on the course is unacceptable.

Carts

Carts are included for all competitive rounds.  Players are responsible for practice round fees.

Defending Champions

The Men’s Net Four-Ball Championship named three teams champions at Walt Disney World Golf Resort. The teams of Justin Thomas and Tony Kent, Robert Koenigkramer and Theodore Kpec, and Joe Brisley and Tom Weber captured their respective divisions.

  • Conditions/ Schedule - The FSGA Championships Committee/on-site Rules Committee reserves the right to alter any of the conditions, provisions and/or schedules. The decision of the Championships Committee/on-site Rules Committee in any matter will be final.
  • Play-off Method - If there is a tie for 1st place in each division a score card playoff will be used. *Net Scores*
    The final 18-hole score will be used first. If there is still a tie we will use the back nine scores from the final round as follows: last nine holes, followed by the last six holes, the last three holes, and finally the 18th hole to determine the Champion. If there is still a tie, a coin flip will determine the Champion.

Host Hotel and Accommodations

Due to the number, personal preference, vacation clubs and popularity of hotels in the Orlando area, there is no host hotel for this event.
