Doug Ritter Wins the Mid-Senior Again
Weston's Doug Ritter shot a final round even-par 70 to win his second title in three years.
Jacksonville's David Anthony was one stroke back after firing a 1-under par 69. After shooting a 69 and 70 in the first two rounds, Ritter was one stroke behind Ft. Lauderdale's Rick Woulfe heading into the final round. His consistent play pushed him to the top of the leaderboard. Woulfe struggled in the final round and shot a 4-over par 74 to finish in a third-place tie with Orlando's Bret Voisin. Tampa's Doug LaCrosse, who earlier in the week was competing in the U.S. Amateur, closed with a 69 to finish in a tie for 5th with Winter Park's David Boesel.
Ritter won the State Mid-Senior title in 1998 and was a runner-up in last year's event.
The Florida State Mid-Senior Championship is the 12th of 17 state championships conducted annually by the Florida State Golf Association.
