Graham-Giese Win Senior Four-Ball
The panhandle tandem of Billy Graham and Bill Giese fought off high winds and numerous teams to win the Florida State Senior Four-Ball Championship at Riverwood Golf Club on Wednesday. Bill King of Jupiter and Robert Kinder of Venice came from behind to tie it up at 4-under par after 36 holes, but a par by Giese on the second playoff hole sealed the victory.
Graham and Giese played smart golf on their way to the title. After shooting a 4-under par 67 in the first round, they made three birdies and two bogeys for a 1-under par 70. Three-time winner Curt Madson and Ron LeClair finished one-stroke behind in third place. First-round leaders Lee Chira of Orlando and Ed Garver of Lutz followed their 66 with a 74 to finish in a 3-way tie for fourth place.
The Florida State Senior Four-Bail Championship is the 16th of 17 championships conducted annually by the Florida State Golf Association.
