Boys' Divisions

Anthony Muttillo - 16-18 Division (Left) and Nicklas Staub - 13-15 Division (Right)

Anthony Muttillo, from Boca Raton, started his round on Saturday in the freezing cold temperatures looking to capture the title at his last FJT Tour Championship. Firing an opening round 1-under par, 71, Anthony was the only player in the boys' 16-18 division to post a score better than par on Saturday. The University of South Florida commit did not look back in Sunday's final round starting off with a quick birdie on the difficult par-4 second hole. Muttillo went on to only hit four fairways in his final round, but was able to tally four birdies and only four bogeys to finish with a stellar even-par round in difficult conditions. Anthony's two round total of 1 under-par, 143, was enough to give him a three stroke victory over Cy Storlien who posted an impressive final round score of 2 under-par, 70 while trying to chase down Muttillo.

Nicklas Staub found himself five strokes behind first round leader, Aidan Kramer, following Saturday's opening round. He woke up on Sunday morning and went on to have a very solid range session stating "I may fire a 65 out there on the course today and come back to win." He may not have posted the 65 he had in mind, but Staub came out of the gate firing making 5 birdies on his opening nine holes. Making the turn at 5 under-par, Nicklas went on to make one birdie and one bogey on his closing nine holes to post a very impressive final round score of 5 under-par, 67. Nicklas wasn't the only player moving up the leaderboard on Sunday. Florida State University commit, Gray Albright, was 7 under-par in his round on Sunday heading into the final hole of the event. A disappointing bogey on the par-5, 9th hole, put him in a tie with Nick and the two would head into a play-off starting on the first hole. Nicklas went on to make an impressive birdie on the second play-off hole to take home the 2017 Tour Championship victory.

Girls' Divisions

Siyan Chen - 16-18 Division (Left) and Wyndom Burnett - 13-15 Division (Right)

Siyan Chen, the 2017 16-18 Girls' FJT Tour Champion, seems to always have her name on the top of the leaderboard. Not only did Siyan claim this year's Tour Championship, but Siyan also won last year's Tour Championship as well. This weekend's victory extended her winning streak to four straight wins on the Florida Junior Tour. Claiming the first place trophy did not come easy for Chen on Sunday. Heading into the final round, she was 2 strokes behind first round leader, Katie Yoo. Katie is another player that is extremely consistent on the FJT and would not be easy to chase down in the cold December weather. However, Siyan went on a tear to close out the event and birdied three of her final five holes to overtake Katie and win the event by two strokes with a two round total of 1 under-par, 143.

Wyndom Burnett has been continually improving during the 2017 Florida Junior Tour season. After a second place finish in September at Falcon's Fire Golf Club, Wyndom solidified her spot in the Tour Championship field with her first FJT victory at Ocala Golf Club in October. Following Saturday's round, Wyndom found herself on top of the leaderboard by one stroke over a plethora of strong players. Mimi Chen, Chloe Schiavone, Jacqueline Putrino, Karoline Tuttle, and Juliana Camargo were all just one stroke behind and each of them have extremely strong playing resumes of their own this season. Wyndom would need to bring her "A" game on Sunday to fend off the rest of the field and she did just that by finishing her round with a final nine hole score of 1 under-par, 35. Not to be outdone, Mimi Chen did not let Wyndom out of her sights. Closing with 3 birdies in her final 4 holes, Mimi was able to force a play-off with Wyndom and the two players headed to the par-4, 1st hole. With a solid par, Wyndom was able to capture the victory and take home the first place hardware in the 13-15 girls' division.

The 2017 FJT Tour Championship is hosted by the Conservatory at Hammock Beach. The Tom Watson Signature designed course is sure to cap off our season proper. This breathtaking course is highlighted by waterfalls, babbling brooks and veneered field stone work. To the 140 sand and coquina bunkers, Watson also added three sod-faced bunkers, a nod to his affinity for British links-style golf. Over the years, the Conservatory course has been recognized by Golf Digest and Golf Magazine as one of the top courses you can pay to play in Florida.

2.  All other entries are held until Wednesday, November 2nd. Players are then accepted based off their standing on the FJT points lists. Approximately 66 boys and 24 girls will be accepted into the field (~42 in boys 16-18 division, 24 in the boys 13-15 division, 12 in the girls 16-18 division, and 12 in the girls 13-15 division).

3.  An alternates list will be posted to the FJT website under "Tee Times & Player Information".
