Cox & Legere Capture Second Senior Four-Ball Crown in Play-off

This is the second Senior Four-Ball victory, after winning the championship in 2016.

The championship began on Tuesday with players battling weather during the first round. The team of Cox and Legere posted a first-round 67 to finish the day two shots back of the leaders, Don Whittemore and Pete Williams.

Cox and Legere got off to a quick start in the final round with Cox birdieing the first two holes of the day. They kept it rolling, birdieing the fifth and the sixth to make the turn at 3 under for the day. Heading the back nine at 8 under, Cox birdied two of the first three holes on the back side to move the team to 10 under

The team added birdies on the 15th and 17th to head to the final hole of the day tied for the lead with four other teams. Cox and Legere, along with Whittemore and Williams, finished with par on the final hole to head into a playoff, with Williams getting up and down to save par.

Legere tolled in a 10-foot birdie putt on the second playoff hole to secure the victory for him and Cox.

Whittemore and Williams, the 2018 and 2019 champions, finished with a runner-up finish. Jimmy Jones and Jack Hannon took a share of third place with Patrick Becker and Todd Franks at 11-under 133.
