Florida Junior Tour
Walt Disney World Resort
November 25-27, 2005
UPDATE: September 28,
2005
As you know this will be the
tour’s only 54 hole (major) event this season and therefore draws
tremendous interest. Based on current requests we anticipate well over 170
entries for a field of 78 players (boys and girls).
We know that not everyone is
going to have an opportunity to play this year but we wanted you to know we are
already working to obtain a second course in 2006 and players whose entry is not
processed will receive priority status at a future event.
For purposes of FJT points
and awards the field will be divided as in the past:
- Boys Divisions are
13-15 & 16-18
- Girls Divisions are
13-15 & 16-18
- FJT points will be
awarded in accordance with the published points list
- Crystal will be awarded
to the top 3 finishers and ties in each of the 4 divisions
GOOD NEWS:
Earlier this month we
obtained Golfweek/Titleist ranking for all 16-18 Division events
(8) and also the AJGA has recognized this event as a major and
increased the number of exemptions they will award.
In order to give ALL
players the opportunity to earn National Recognition and earn AJGA exemptions
the following procedural changes have been made:
- The field size will
increase from 78 to 84 total players.
- The field will be
selected in proportion to the number of players that enter by age and
gender.
- ALL boys will play from
one yardage, approximately 6850 - 6950 yards.
- ALL girls will play from
one yardage, approximately 5950 – 6050 yards
- ALL boys and girls will
compete for their respective AJGA exemptions and performance stars listed
below.
Boys
Overall Champ - 2 Exemptions
Overall Top 5 - 1 Exemption
Overall Top 10 - 1 Performance Star
Girls
Overall Champ - 2 Exemptions
Overall Top 3 - 1 Exemption
Overall Top 5 - 1 Performance Star
- Results will be
forwarded to Golfweek/Titleist, Junior Golf Scoreboard and the AJGA.
NOTE: For those 13-15‘s that have earned the right to play up you will
not have to declare that you wish to play up just to obtain Golfweek/Titleist
ranking or AJGA exemptions. You may choose to play up only if you want to
obtain FJT points in the 16-18 division.
- In addition to the
crystal trophy in each division, the overall Boys and Girls Champion will
receive a FJT wind shirt.
We will begin entering those
players who have earned full exempt status and have 2 or more unused exemptions
as of Oct 3rd so you may plan your Thanksgiving weekend accordingly.
Likewise we will notify players who will not make the field as soon as possible
so may enter other events.
As the FJT membership grows,
the Staff must consider changes to our policies and procedures for the
betterment of the members. Your comments or concerns are important to us and we
look forward to seeing you at future events.
