2022 Super-Senior Player of the Year
Werner earned the Super-Senior Player of the Year after a successful 2022 season, that included an FSGA championship win and a number of top finishes.
The Fort Myers native captured the Super-Senior Amateur Match Play Championship in June, raising the trophy at Crown Colony Golf and Country Club. He defeated Greg Nelson, 1 up, to capture his second FSGA title.
Werner added top finishes at the Super-Senior Amateur Championship and the 61st Senior Amateur Championship, finishing runner-up and tied for third, respectively earlier this season. The two-time FSGA champion teed it up in the U.S. Senior Amateur Championship in August.
All three players will be honored at the FSGA’s Annual Dinner in Boynton Beach at The Club at Quail Ridge later this month. The Annual Dinner celebrates the best players in the state, volunteers, board members and many other important individuals involved in the game of golf in Florida.
