2024 Women's Amateur Player of the Year
Terrill Samuel, a three-time Women's Senior Amateur Champion, has been named the FSGA Women’s Senior Player of the Year following an impressive season of competing in both state and national championships.
Samuel’s year kicked off with a win at the 77th Women’s International Four-Ball (Middle Division), where she teamed up with partner Lisa McGill. Determined to stay at the top, Samuel then claimed her third consecutive Women’s Senior Amateur Championship title with rounds of 76-76-74, bringing her one victory away from tying four-time champion and 2023 Hall of Fame inductee, Mary Jane Hiestand.
Just two weeks later, Samuel secured a fourth-place finish at the Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship. Amidst her feats within the FSGA, Samuel also qualified for three USGA events: the 2024 U.S. Senior Women’s Open, the 2024 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship, and the 2024 U.S. Women’s Senior Amateur. At the U.S. Senior Women’s Open, she finished T19 and earned Low Amateur honors. With renewed determination, Samuel advanced to the Round of 16 at the U.S. Women’s Senior Amateur.
Samuel also claimed victory at the 2024 Canadian Women’s Senior Amateur Championship for the third time.
