President's Award

The President's Award is reserved for special accomplishment in national or international competitions by a Florida Resident. 

Lexi Thompson - 2008

Lexi Thompson, born and raised in Coral Springs, Florida was awarded the President's Award in 2008 for her victory in the U.S. Girls' Junior Championship. Lexi, 13 years old at the time, became the second-youngest winner in the history of the Championship after defeating Karen Chung, 5 and 4, in the 36-hole championship at Hartford Golf Club.

Over the past few years, Lexi has become one of the best female golfers in the world.

Ben An - 2009

Ben An, attended Brandenton Prep in Bradenton, Florida. In 2009, at age 17, Ben defeated Ben Martin 7 and 5 in the U.S. Amateur Championship at Southern Hills Country Club to become the youngest champion in the history of the event. 

Similar to Lexi's success in women's golf, Ben has gone on to become one of the best male golfers in the world.

  • Champion of BMW (European) PGA Championship
  • Finished tied for 26th in 2014 Open Championship

Ina Kim-Schaad - 2019

Ina Kim-Schaad, a part-time Florida resident, raised the trophy at the 2019 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur just three years after a hiatus from golf of more than a decade. Earlier in the year, Kim-Schaad capture the Women's International Four-Ball title with Meghan Stasi. 

Although Kim-Schaad resides in New York for most of the year, she competed in many FSGA events and is a two-time FSGA champion.

Gianna Clemente - 2023

Gianne Clemente, a Florida Junior Tour alumni, raised the trophy at the 2023 U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship with her partner Aver Zweig. Earlier in the year, Clemente captured a win at The Sally, one of the nation's longest-running amateur tournaments. The Estero native is currently
