Coaching & Playing Bio - Erin O'Neil
Erin O’Neil joined the FSGA in June 2021, after spending the last 17 years as the Head Women's Golf Coach at the University of Kansas. As a coach and a player she has successfully competed at every level and has a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience to share with our FJT members who wish to play collegiate golf.
Raised in Wesley Chapel, FL she became a AJGA Rolex All-American while attending Zephyrhills High School, eventually earning a full scholarship to play for the University of Georgia. During her time in Athens, Erin was named SEC Freshman of the Year, earned All-SEC honors all four years of her collegiate career, and helped lead her team to first place finishes at the SEC Championship during her freshman and senior year. After graduating from college she followed her dream of playing professionally and spent two years playing on the Futures Tour as well as competing in three LPGA Qualifiyng School competitions before deciding to choose a different path within the golf world taking a job as the Assistant Women's Golf Coach at Auburn University in the fall of 2000.
Becoming a coach seemed like a natural fit for Erin as she thouroughly enjoys helping others reach their true potential both on and off the golf course. She has an extensive knowledge about the NCAA recruiting rules and eligibility requirements, knows what coaches are looking for in a recruit, how to practice effectively, and what is needed to be a successful student-athlete at the next level.
Erin's top priority is to be a mentor to our juniors and their families during the recruiting process and to help them find the best fit athletically and academically.
