2024 Women's Amateur Player of the Year
One Kashima has been named the FSGA Women's Amateur Player of the Year following a remarkable season in which she never finished outside the top five. Her year kicked off with a strong performance at the Women's Four-Ball Championship, where she and partner Hibiki Adachi I claimed second place, setting the tone for a stellar 2024 season.
Building on this momentum, Kashima went on to secure another runner-up finish at the 95th Women's Amateur Championship. After dominating her earlier matches, she reached the final match where she was set to face Girls’ Junior Player of the Year, Sophia Dyer. The championship match went all the way to the 18th hole, where Kashima ultimately finished in second place.
With two second-place finishes to start the season, Kashima was determined to top the leaderboard at her next event– the 30th Women's Amateur Stroke Play Championship. She delivered with rounds of 69-71-71 and, in a thrilling playoff, hit an approach shot to about 12 feet before sinking a birdie putt to secure the victory on the first playoff hole.
Beyond her FSGA triumphs, Kashima also had an outstanding season at the University of North Florida. Competing in all nine tournaments, she posted the second-best average on the team at 73.59. She placed in the top-25 four times throughout the season, with three of those finishes being in the top 10. Kashima looks to continue her season at the University of Central Florida.
