2013 Amateur Player of the Year
Mount Dora’s Jon Veneziano is the 2013 Player of the Year recipient earning a sen¬sational 15,229 overall points for the year. Jon began the year with a first place finish at the Mid-Amateur Four-Ball North Championship, partnering with Stephen An¬derson to shoot 64-67. Then, Jon finished third at the Florida Amateur Public Links Championship, missing out on first place by just one stroke. He qualified for both the US Amateur Public Links and US Mid-Amateur where he made it to the Round of 32 matches. He continued his steady play at The Florida Amateur finishing tied for eighth and then at The Florida Open finishing tied for fourteenth. Next, Jon garnered medalist honors in the stroke play qualifying portion of the Amateur Match Play Championship where he made it to the Round of 32 matches. Finally, his great year was capped off by winning the 32nd Florida Mid-Amateur.
