Jacksonville's Steve Dodson and David Anthony Claim Another Championship

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Jacksonville duo of Steve Dodson and David Anthony worked their magic once again to win their third state four-ball event in the last three years. With back-to-back 67's at LPGA International, the duo won the 1999 Florida State Mid-Senior Four-Bail Championship by three strokes.
Dodson and Anthony have also teamed to win the 1997 Florida State Four-Ball Championship and the 1998 Florida State Mid-Amateur Four-Ball Championship. They have also added four other top 10 finishes in four-ball events including a tie for third in both the 1998 Florida State Mid-Senior Four-Ball Championship and the 1998 Florida State Four-Ball Championship.
Their most recent victory was highlighted by a final-round low of 67. Standing in a tie for second place after the first round, the two pulled away for a three-stroke victory. Rick Luzar and Timothy Wahl led the first round with a 66, but shot a final-round 71 to finish in a tie for second place. Jack Jackson and Robert Stanford shot 69 and 68 to equal Luzar-Wahl's score.
The Florida State Mid-Senior Four-Ball Championship is the thirteenth of 16 state championships conducted by the Florida State Golf Association, Another Florida State Mid-Senior Four-Ball Championship was held during the same time at Bear Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach. Both sets of champions will be recognized as state champions.
