Miami pro Richard Bassett shot a two-over par 74 to win a Florida PGA tournament at the Sandpiper Bay Country Club in Port St. Lucie.
Bassett's total of 276 on the 6,473-yard course entitled him to $4,000 in first-place money. He was one stroke ahead of Ron Baker of Coral Springs, who shot a final round 72 for the second prize of $3,200.
Tied for third place at 278 were Laurie Hammer of Boynton Beach and Jim Barber of Clearwater. Jammer shot a four-under-par 68 in Friday's final round while Barber had a 69. The two split $4,400.
Jay Pyle of Sandpiper Bay took the low amateur spot with a 279 total after a final-round 73.
