Florida July 13 & 14, 2002 Memorandum To Contestants On
behalf of the FSGA, congratulations on qualifying for the 2002 FSGA
Four-Ball Championship. We hope that
you enjoy your experience in competing at a state championship and take
many favorable memories from your time at TPC at Sawgrass. Please
take time to carefully read through this packet of information. There are several important pieces of
information contained here, some of which require action by you, by a
certain time (e.g. hotel reservations, practice rounds, etc.). If you have any questions please do not
hesitate to contact the Championship Department, (813) 632-3742. Registration Deadline By
5:00 p.m., Monday, July 8th, each team must: Remit to the FSGA office, $140.00 per team for
advance payment of cart fees at TPC at Sawgrass. Players may send a check to the FSGA
office or pay by credit card online through the account manager
or my account feature at fsga.org. Payment must be received by
Monday, July 8th, or your team will be withdrawn
from the championship. Failure to meet this deadline will be considered
tantamount to withdrawal. A place
will then be offered to an alternate.
We stress that all qualifiers must meet this deadline of, Monday,
July 8th. There will be no registration the day before the
Championship. If we have received
your payment for your cart fees by Monday, July 8th your team
has registered for the Championship.

Ball TPC at Sawgrass Page 2 Championship 36 holes of four-ball stroke play. Round one will be played on the Valley
Course and round two will be on the Stadium Course. Range balls will be available before each
competitive round only. Accommodations The headquarter hotel is at the Sawgrass
Marriott Resort, where we have reserved a block of rooms for Four-Ball
Contestants. The room rate is $95.00
per night for single or double occupancy.

Championship. Directions From
I95 take exit 101 (J. Turner Butler Blvd. East). Continue on J. Turner Butler for about 12
miles. Exit onto A1A south. Travel south on A1A for approximately 3-4
miles. Turn right on to PGA Tour
Blvd (TPC at Sawgrass). The course is on the left about 1 mile
past the guardhouse. Practice
Rounds Players may play a practice round on Thursday July 11th,
Friday July 12th or Saturday July 13th after
completing your first round. The cost of the practice round including range
balls is $50.00 plus tax. Starting times for your practice round can be
arranged by calling the club. You
may not make your tee
time before July 3rd or before groupings are made. The golf shop telephone

Between Rounds The Committee is
permitting practice on the competition course or part of the course
(Rule 33-2c) on any day of
or between rounds of the stroke competition. Carts All players must ride during the Championship
rounds. NOTE: NO ONE OTHER THAN THE PLAYERS
MAY RIDE IN A CART. THIS INCLUDES
CADDIES AND SPECTATORS.

Ball TPC at Sawgrass Page 3 Charges The golf shop will accept cash; Visa and MasterCard
for payment for golf carts for the practice rounds. Spike Policy It is a condition of the Florida State Golf
Association that shoes with traditionally designed spikes (regardless of
composition, i.e. ceramic, plastic, etc.) or spikes, regardless of design,
comprised either entirely or partially of metal (when such metal comes in
contact with the surface of the putting green) are prohibited. Penalty for breach of this condition: Disqualification. Pace of Play In order to accommodate 104 players, it is essential
that the game be played at a brisk pace which may be defined as four hours
and fifteen minutes in groups of four during the Championship rounds. The pace of play will be monitored. If and when it should become necessary to
speak to individual players about slow play, we hope they will react with
the understanding that we do it in the best interest of the championship and
the other players. The pace of play for the Championship will be posted
