Amelia River Golf Club is
renowned as one of the best-conditioned courses in the area with incredibly
smooth TifEagle greens, sculpted around a forest of majestic live oaks, sabal
palms, pines and wax myrtles. Designed by Tom Jackson, large greens and rolling
fairways are a trademark of Amelia River.
ELIGIBILITY: Must be age 40 or older as of September 13, 2008, and both
entrants must be members of the FSGA.
ENTRY FEE: $310 ($330 - members who do not have an active FSGA/GHIN
Handicap).
ENTRIES CLOSE: Wednesday, August 13
CHAMPIONSHIP: 36 holes of four-ball stroke play. The lowest team score for 36 holes will be the Champion. If necessary, there will be a hole by hole play-off to determine the champion. It is the players responsibility to be present for any play-off.
FLIGHTS: After 18 holes. The number of flights will be based on the number of teams and/or the range of scores.

CARTS: Carts are included for all competitive rounds. Players are
responsible for practice round fees.
SPECTATORS AND CADDIES: Spectators and caddies are always welcome at FSGA Championships. Only players are allowed to ride in carts. If a player employs a caddie, the caddie MUST walk and the players clubs must remain on the golf cart. Spectators must walk.
CONDITIONS; SCHEDULES The FSGA Championships Committee/on-site Rules Committee reserves the right to alter any of the conditions, provisions and/or schedules. The decision of the Championships Committee/on-site Rules Committee in any matter will be final.
ACCOMMODATIONS: Arrangements have been made at Amelia Island Plantation. Room rates are $196 per night for a oceanview room and $141.00 per night for a resort view room. These rates are currently subject to a 7% state and a 2% county occupancy tax. COURSE SET- UP: The golf course will be set-up approximately 6600-6800 yards.
REGISTRATION TABLE: There will be a registration table set up in front of the pro shop. All contestants are requested to check in.
PRACTICE ROUND: Practice rounds are available one week prior to the championship. Practice rounds may be played after 12:00 PM on the weekend. The price for your practice round is $30.00 tax. Please call (904) 491-8500 to arrange your practice round. The proper place to practice your golf swing is on the driving range, hitting multiple shots on the course is unacceptable.
PAYMENT: Amelia River Golf Club will accept cash, Visa/MasterCard for method of payment.
SCORE CARDS: Only one of the partners per team need sign the score card and each score to count must be individually identifiable. See Rule 313.
DIRECTIONS TO AMELIA RIVER GOLF CLUB:
Take I-95 NORTH to Exit 373 (Old 129, Route
A1A). Go East 11.2 miles to Amelia Island Parkway and turn right (just over the
Thomas J. Shave [Intracoastal Waterway] Bridge) at first stoplight. Continue
approximately 3 miles until the
road forks and
go to the right on Buccaneer Trail. Entrance to Amelia River is on right.
