Memorandum to Contestants

On behalf of the FSGA, congratulations on qualifying for the 71st Florida Open Championship.  We hope that you enjoy your experience in competing at a State Championship and take many favorable memories from your time at Black Diamond Ranch.

Please take time to carefully read through this information.  There are several important pieces of information contained here, some of which require action by you, by a certain time (e.g. pre-registration, and practice rounds, etc.).  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the FSGA Championship Department at (813) 632-3742 or championships@fsga.org.

Pre-Registration Deadline

By 3:30 PM, Monday, July 10th, each player who advanced through a qualifier must remit to the FSGA office, $250 (pros) or $150 (amateurs) per player for advance payment of Championship fees.  Championship fees include tee gifts, cart fees, professional purse, amateur gift cards, and range balls for all rounds. Players must pay by credit card online through the My Account section.  Payment must be received by 3:30 PM, Monday, July 10th, or you will be withdrawn from the Championship. Exempt players are automatically pre-registered with a complete entry. 

To pre-register online:

• log on to the FSGA website at www.fsga.org using your email address and password
• click on "My Account" in the upper right hand corner of the homepage
• under "My Tournaments", click on the "Pre-Register" button to the right of the tournament name
• enter your credit card information and then click the "Charge My Card" button on the bottom right hand corner of the page 

Failure to meet this deadline will result in withdrawal of your entry.  The spot will then be offered to an alternate.  

Tee Times & Groupings

Tee times and pairings groups will be arranged and posted on the FSGA website at www.fsga.org on Tuesday, July 11th.

Practice Rounds

Practice rounds are available on a space available basis on both courses.  Practice rounds are restricted to after 12:00 PM on the weekend prior to the Championship.

All players must take a cart and the cost of the practice round, including range balls and cart, is $30 plus tax. Only exempt and qualifying participants may play practice rounds.

Open each morning at approximately 6:30 AM and close at 6:00 PM each day 

Purse

The purse is estimated to be $100,000. All professionals making the cut will receive a minimum of $750 and all amateurs making the cut will receive a minimum of $250 in gift certificates to the Black Diamond Golf Shop. Click here to view the purse.

Host Sites Policies & Dress Code

The membership and management would like all of you to enjoy your experience during the Championship.

• Gentlemen are required to have shirts tucked in and hats worn properly while on the golf course. 
• The wearing of cargo shorts designed are NOT permitted. 
• Players are encouraged to use the services of the clubhouse and grill room for food and beverage as well as the locker room and its services. 
• Gentlemen are prohibited from wearing their hats while in the clubhouse. 
• Each club strictly prohibits the use cell phones, ear pieces & blackberry’s etc, on the golf course and in the club house. Leave your cell phone in your car or golf bag.

Remember that you are guests at Black Diamond and entries are subject to rejection or withdrawal at any time (including during the event). The reason for withdrawal may include improper attire and/or unbecoming conduct.

Food & Beverage

Lunch is provided complimentary at each club during days of competition. Additionally, bottled water, sports drinks, snacks and fruit will be provided at the starting tees each morning. Spectators and caddies may purchase the buffet lunch for $15.

Breakfast is NOT available at the club. Three breakfast options are located near the club:  Breakfast Station, New England Cafe, and McDonald's.

A beverage cart will NOT be on the courses during the championship. Players are not allowed to bring outside product on property. Please support the club and purchase your food and beverage at the club.

Since this is not a Section event, consumption of alcohol is permitted, provide you are of age.

Carts & Caddies

All players must ride during the Championship rounds. Only players are allowed to ride in carts.  If a player employs a caddie, the caddie MUST walk and the player’s clubs must remain on the golf cart.

Spectator Carts

Spectator carts are allowed by FSGA policy; however, the club may not have any carts available for rent. Please plan on not having a spectator cart.

Player Check-In (Thursday & Friday)

Player check-in will on Thursday 10:00 – 4:00 and again Friday morning before the first round. Please check in to receive your shirt, hat, badge and other items.

Payment at Clubs

Cash and major credit cards are accepted for F&B and Golf Shop purchases.
