Memorandum to Contestants

On behalf of the FSGA, congratulations on qualifying for the 70th Florida Open Championship.  We hope that you enjoy your experience in competing at a State Championship and take many favorable memories from your time at Interlachen Country Club and Orange Tree Golf Club.

Please take time to carefully read through this information.  There are several important pieces of information contained here, some of which require action by you, by a certain time (e.g. hotel reservations, pre-registration, and practice rounds, etc.).  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the FSGA Championship Department at (813) 632-3742 or championships@fsga.org.

Pre-Registration Deadline

By 3:30 PM, Friday, July 8th, each player who advanced through a qualifier must remit to the FSGA office, $250 (pros) or $150 (amateurs) per player for advance payment of Championship fees.  Championship fees include tee gifts, cart fees, professional purse, amateur gift cards, and range balls for all rounds. Players must pay by credit card online through the My Account section.  Payment must be received by 3:30 PM, Friday, July 8th, or you will be withdrawn from the Championship. Exempt players are automatically pre-registered with a complete entry. 

To pre-register online:

• log on to the FSGA website at www.fsga.org using your email address and password
• click on "My Account" in the upper right hand corner of the homepage
• under "My Tournaments", click on the "Pre-Register" button to the right of the tournament name
• enter your credit card information and then click the "Charge My Card" button on the bottom right hand corner of the page 

Failure to meet this deadline will result in withdrawal of your entry.  The place will then be offered to an alternate.  

Tee Times & Groupings

Tee times and pairings groups will be arranged and posted on the FSGA website at www.fsga.org  the afternoon of Monday, July 11th. 

Practice Rounds

Practice rounds are available on a space available basis on both courses.  Practice rounds are restricted to after 12:00 PM on the weekend prior to the Championship.

All players must take a cart and the cost of the practice round, including range balls and cart, is $30 plus tax. Only exempt and qualifying participants may play practice rounds.

Practice Facilities

Open each morning at approximately 6:30 AM and close at 7:30 PM each day 

Purse

The purse is estimated to be $80,000 and the final purse will be posted by Thursday, July 14th. All professionals making the cut will receive a minimum of $600 and all amateurs making the cut will receive a minimum of $250 in gift certificates to the Interlachen Golf Shop. Host Sites Policies & Dress Code

The membership and management at each facility would like all of you to enjoy your experience during the 70th Florida Open.

• Gentlemen are required to have shirts tucked in and hats worn properly while on the golf course. 
• The wearing of cargo shorts designed are NOT permitted. 
• Players are encouraged to use the services of the clubhouse and grill room for food and beverage as well as the locker room and its services. 
• Gentlemen are prohibited from wearing their hats while in the clubhouse. 
• Each club strictly prohibits the use cell phones, ear pieces & blackberry’s etc, on the golf course and in the club house. Leave your cell phone in your car or golf bag.

Remember that you are guests at Interlachen Country Club and Orange Tree Golf Club and entries are subject to rejection or withdrawal at any time (including during the event). The reason for withdrawal may include improper attire and/or unbecoming conduct.

Food & Beverage

Lunch is provided complimentary at each club during days of competition. Additionally, bottled water, sports drinks, snacks and fruit will be provided at the starting tees each morning. Spectators and caddies may purchase the buffet lunch for $15 (cash only at Interlachen).

INTERLACHEN CC - Breakfast is NOT available. A cash menu will be available at the Halfway House during practice and competitive rounds. Only cash is acceptable for F&B purchases 

ORANGE TREE GC - Breakfast items are available beginning at 8:00 AM on Friday and 7:00 AM on Saturday. The restaurant and bar accepts cash and major credit cards for purchases.

A beverage cart will NOT be on the courses during the championship. Players are not allowed to bring outside product on property. Please support the club and purchase your food and beverage at the club.

Carts & Caddies

All players must ride during the Championship rounds. Only players are allowed to ride in carts.  If a player employs a caddie, the caddie MUST walk and the player’s clubs must remain on the golf cart.

Weather Contingency - Since Interlachen does not have cart paths completely around their course if heavy rains fall on Interlachen CC, and the course because very wet, it is possible that players would have to walk and carry their bag (or use a pull cart). The club has 30 pull carts available if this situation arises.

Spectator Carts

Spectator carts are allowed by FSGA policy; however, both clubs may not have any carts available for rent. Please plan on not having a spectator cart.

Player Check-In (Thursday, Friday & Saturday)

Player check-in will only be at Interlachen, on Thursday 10:00 – 4:00 and again Friday and Saturday morning before the first round. Please check in to receive your shirt, hat, badge and other items.

Payment at Clubs

Interlachen - Only cash for F&B purchases and only credit cards for purchases in the Golf Shop

Orange Tree - Accepts cash and major credit cards for all purchases
