Ocala's Steve Albright is still in the lead after the second round of the 84th Florida State Amateur Championship, but Clearwater's Brendan Takacs has joined him.
Albright, who posted a 4-under par 68 on the Rolling Oaks Course at World Woods Golf Club yesterday, shot a 2-over par 73 on the Pine Barr Course Friday. Takacs, who finished in a tie for 4th last yam; shot a 2-under par 70 on the Rolling Oaks Course to go with his first-round 71 on Pine Barrens.
Sarasota's Adam Scrimenti shot the low round of the day with a 3-under par 69 on the Rolling Oaks Course to stand one stroke behind the leaders. Palm Beach Gardens' Brent Bush posted an even-par 72 on Rolling Oaks to also stand one behind.
Six players are two strokes back led by last year's runner-up Joe Alfieri of Lutz. First-round co-leader Steve Homer of Ponte Vedra Beach followed his first-round 68 with an 8-over par 80.
Seventy-nine players made the cut at 9-over 152. Third round tee times begin at 8:00 am. The final two rounds will be played on the par-72 Rolling Oaks Course.
