The father and son duo of Bret and Bryce Voisin held off a strong field to capture the Two-Man Shoot-Out held at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club, in Dade City on May 19-20.
The Voisin’s captured the Championship with a tournament total of 20-under par 196. In the first round of modified alternate shot on the North Course, the pair posted a three-under par round of 69, to trail the leaders by two strokes. Playing a scramble on the par 72 South Course in the second round, Bret and Bryce recorded an impressive round of 12-under par 60, to take a two stoke lead heading into the final round. Playing a Four-Ball in the final round on the South Course, the pair went on to fire a five-under par 67 to secure the Championship by just one stroke. Jeronimo Esteve and Thad Hudgens, finished alone in second place after rounds of 69-65-63 for a tournament total of 197. The team of Peter Dachisen and Jimmy Jones as well as the team of Matthew Anderson and Jack Hannon finished tied for third place with a tournament total of 17-under par 199.
The 146 yard Par 3 14th hole on the South course provided some added excitement to the Tournament. During Saturday afternoon's round, Ricky Lee, of Lakeland, aced the hole. On Sunday, Ricky, was paired with Nick Fernandez, from Pembroke Pines. As they played the 14th, it was Nick's turn and he holed his tee shot.
The field of 52 teams played three competitive rounds consisting of modified alternate shot, two-man scramble and the final 18 holes of four-ball. The first round was played on the North Course, with the last two round played on the South Course.
