KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Women’s Championship schedule concluded on Tuesday with the Women’s Winter Series at Falcon’s Fire Golf Club. This was the second event of the 2024-2025 Winter Series schedule and the last event for 2024.
Championship Division
Suzanne Ricard opened up the Women’s Winter Series event with a 6-over par, 78 to take a four shot lead over the Championship field. Ricard played consistently in round one, not carding a score over a bogey. Lurking nearby in second place was Robin Nigro. Like Ricard, Nigro put together consistent rounds carding an 82 in round one and following this up with an 82 in round 2. This was enough to vault Nigro into first place and a three shot victory in the championship field. Ricard took second place, and Karin-Joyce Tjon rounded out the top three.
Middle Division
Tracy Nessl started her event off with a 16-over par, 88 in round one to take a one shot lead over the field in the Middle Division. Three players including Susan Snell, Rebecca Schiff, and Sonia Frederick sat only one shot back in second place.
Schiff headed into round two firing on all cylinders. With two birdies, one on the par 4, ninth hole, and one on the par 3, eleventh hole, Schiff moved up the leaderboard quickly and over took the lead position. Schiff held onto this position for the remainder of round two and ultimately claimed a four shot victory. Susan Snell bettered her round one score by two shots to claim second place, and Sonia Frederick rounded out the top three in the Middle Division.
Forward Division
The Forward Division also saw a close leaderboard after round one. Kathleen Tittle opened her event with a 13-over par, 85 to take a two shot lead over the Forward Division field. Teri Conlon was in striking distance with her opening round 87. Tittle continued to lead the pack in round two. Tittle bettered the Forward Division field by four shots with a second round 93. Conlon held her position in second place throughout the second day. With a second round 95, Conlon captured second, and with rounds of 88-95, Liz Porter finished in third place.
