BOWLING GREEN, Fla. – The second round of stroke play seeding ended today and the match play brackets have been set. The Boys (16-18) Division was cut to the low 32 players which competed in their first round of matches in the afternoon. Play was suspended due to weather and the remaining matches will resume tomorrow morning at 8:30 AM. The Boys (13-15) Division and the Girls (13-18) Division were each cut to the low 16 competitors in each division and will compete in their first round of matches tomorrow morning.
Boys (16-18) Division
The older boys division competed in an 8:30AM shotgun. Salmon led the way carding another five-under-par, 67 to secure the number one seed. Evan Raynor was the only other player in the division to post consecutive rounds in the 60’s after he carded a four-under-par, 68 to secure the number two seed.
Upon completion of the morning shotgun the field was cut to the low 32 competitors, and shortly thereafter the Round of 32 began. Some notable wins include Raynor who continued his hot streak from the morning and defeated Connor Fahey 6&5. In addition, Tommy Tyler defeated Chase McBride 5&4. Finally the number one seed, Salmon won his match and is set to face Ronav Benak in the Round of 16 tomorrow.
Boys (13-15) Division
The younger boys division completed their second round of stroke play seeding and the field was cut to the low 16 competitors. Nolan DeForest emerged as the solo leader after posting a four-under-par, 68 and securing the number one seed.
Dalton Wilkes has a round that deserves to be highlighted as he came back from a first round, 81 to fire a second round of four-under-par, 68 which moved him 19 places up the leaderboard. His round included six birdies over the 18 holes and moved him inside the cut line and onto the Round of 16 tomorrow morning.
Girls (13-18) Division
The top 16 competitors of the girls division is set and ready for the Round of 16 tomorrow morning.
Defending champion, Ana Boone, extended her lead during the second round of stroke play seeding. Boone posted a four-under-par, 68 to get to seven-under-par for the two rounds and one stroke ahead of the field. Alexandra Snyder followed close behind her posting a five-under-par, 67 and capturing the number two seed. Snyder carded seven birdies over the 18 holes at the Red Course.
Other notable rounds in the division include Savannah Goodman and Reese McMillan who both posted one-under-par rounds to move up the leaderboard eight places and inside the cutline. Matches will begin on the Blue Course tomorrow morning.
What’s Next
Tomorrow, all divisions will compete in the Round of 16 in the morning from 8:30AM – 10:20AM on the Blue Course. The afternoon will be the Quarterfinals matches which will follow the completion of the morning matches.
