Three Tied for the Lead at WASP

July 6, 2024

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. – The second round of the WASP championship was nothing short of exciting. The leaderboard was dynamic throughout the entirety of the round with players all fighting to the top.

Heading into the final round, Lauren Clark, Caroline Patterson, and Madison Moman all share the lead at six-under-par. Patterson fired the low round of the tournament with a five-under-par 67, including six birdies over the 18 holes. She said of her round today, “I think the difference between today and yesterday is that today I felt a lot less intense. I was more free especially with my putting, I just kind of let it go and let the ball roll. It felt a lot better today.”

However, playing in the same group, Clark was not far behind her firing a four-under-par, 68. Clark explained that the course sets up well for her game. “I love a Fazio design. It allows for one area of the course to be open and the other to be off limits and that just sets up really well for my game because you can just feel really free to one side of the course at all times.”

Moman played in the final group during the second round behind Patterson and Clark. She fired another three-under-par, 69 to stay in a tie for the lead for the second consecutive day. While she did have more birdies in the second round carding five over the 18 holes, she also fell victim to her first two bogeys of the tournament. “I had a pretty consistent round again today, but I had two bogeys unlike my bogey-free round yesterday. But I still shot three-under-par, and I am just going to go back out tomorrow and aim for par, take it one shot at a time, and just play steady golf.

Additionally, Nancy Cox and One Kashima share second place at only two strokes behind the lead each with a total of four-under-par for 36 holes.
