Chandler Blanchet and Logan Lanier share the lead at four-under par at the 59th Florida State Boys' Junior Championship as Ryoto Furuya, Greyson Porter and Anton Serafini share the lead at one-under par in the 13-15 age division at Sara Bay Country Club and Bradenton Country Club. The Championship continues through Thursday, July 11.
Chandler Blanchet, of Gainesville and Logan Lanier, of Saint Augustine, fired rounds of four-under par 67 at Bradenton Country Club to share the first round lead. Both players will test their skill tomorrow at Sara Bay Country Club. Standing alone in third place is Jordan Miller, of Oneco, who made six birdies to go along with three bogies for his round of 68. Bradenton Country Club played to a 75.3 stroke average as Sara Bay Country Club played a full stroke harder at 76.6 for the 16-18 division.
The 13-15 age division played Sara Bay Country Club on Tuesday and saw Ryoto Furuya, of Wesley Chapel, Greyson Porter, of Clearwater, and Anton Serafini, of Lake Mary, grab a share the first round lead after their rounds of one-under par 70. Landon Weber, of Fort Myers, stands alone in fourth place after his round of even par 71. Weber also provided the shot of the day with a hole-in-one on the par-4 fourth hole. Sara Bay Country Club played to a 77.4 stroke average in round 1 for the 13-15 division.
After the second round of play the field will be cut to the low 51 scores and ties for the 16-18 division and the low 21 scores and ties for the 13-15 division. The final round will be conducted at Sara Bay Country Club.
