TAMPA, Fla. – The purses for the Florida Open, Florida Senior Open and Florida Women’s Open & Senior Open have been increased by more than $50,000, furthering the FSGA’s commitment to provide competitors with an unmatched championship experience.
The purse for the Florida Open Championship will be $125,000, an increase of $25,000. The Florida Senior Open will see an increase of $13,000, putting the total championship purse at $65,000. The Florida Women’s Open & Senior will now have a combined purse of $65,000, an increase of $15,000.
“The game of golf is in a great place and we are excited that our Club Professionals will have the opportunity to compete for some of the largest purses in the country,” said Jeff Magaditsch, FSGA Executive Director.
The 77th Florida Open Championship will head to The Golf Club at Crown Colony and Cypress Lake Golf Club on July 14-16. One hundred and fifty-six of the top professionals and amateurs in the state will look to add their name to an impressive list of champions. More than 1,200 competitors will put in an entry with the hope to tee it up in the championship, with 16 local qualifying sites around the state.
In addition to the $125,000 championship purse, the FSGA will also pay out more than $13,000 in local qualifying purses to help offset the championship costs for professionals that advance.
The 46th Florida Senior Open Championship will be contested on May 1-3 at Lakewood National Golf Club in Lakewood Ranch. The FSGA will host six local qualifiers across Florida, with the top senior players around the state will compete over 54 holes to decide a champion.
The Florida Women’s Open & Senior Open will take center stage at Grand Harbor Golf & Beach Club on July 28-30 in Vero Beach. Some of the best professionals and amateurs from around the country will compete against each other in this championship, allowing great players from today and tomorrow to compete together on the same turf.
