Barth & Mulrain Go Wire-To-Wire to Win

TAVARES, Fla. – Brian Barth and John Mulrain went wire-to-wire to capture the win at the Senior/Mid-Amateur Four-Ball Championship on Sunday at Deer Island Country Club. The pair used a 14-under 130 to take home the one-shot victory. This was the first FSGA championship win for both players.

Barth and Mulrain got off to a hot-start in the first round on Saturday, firing an 11-under 61. The Panama City Beach duo finished the day bogey-free with 11 birdies, with seven on the back side. They took a three-shot lead over Ryan Abbate and Edward Brown.

Their first-round 61 was the lowest round in the tournament history since 2016, where Doug Snoap and Jon Veneziano posted a final-round 61.

Barth and Mulrain kept it rolling in the final round, beginning the day with back-to-back birdies from Barth. Mulrain added another birdie on the fourth, making the turn at 3 under for the day. They put together an even-par final nine to take home the victory with a final-round 69.

Abbate and Brown took home a second-place finish on Sunday, finishing the championship one shot back at 13-under 131. The duo stared the weekend with an 8-under 64 and made a run at the title on the final nine. Abbate and Brown birdied the first three of five on the back nine in the final round.

Brown added another birdied on the 16th to move the team to 12 under for the championship. Brown rolled in a birdie on the 18th hole to secure a second-place finish for the team, finishing with a final-round 67

Bill Anderson and Doug Snoap used rounds of 66-66 to finish in third place at 12-under 132, while Miles McConnell and Jay Halverson finished fourth at 11-under 133.
