The Top 144 senior amateur golfers in the state will congregate at Bradenton Country Club to compete in the 56th Florida Senior Amateur Championship on April 11-13. Reigning champ Peter Wegmann will attempt to become the first player since 1989 to defend his title.
This year, over 300 players entered the tournament in hopes to play in the 54-hole championship. Participants who made the final 144 player field will play 36 holes on the traditional Donald Ross layout before a cut to the low 60 players and ties. To be eligible, players must reach their 55th birthday on or before the first round of the championship (April 11th), be an amateur golfer and also a member of the Florida State Golf Association.
