The cut has been made and 62 players with a two round total of 161, 17 over-par, or better will play the final round of the Mid-Senior Championship on the El Campeon course at Mission Inn Resort & Club.
With identical first and second round scores, Jaime Girardi, of New Port Richey, and R J Nakashian, of Palm Beach, head into the final round tied for the lead. Both players posted rounds of 71-72 for a one under-par total of 143 and two stroke lead. Nakashian joined Stephen Anderson, who is currently tied for fourth with Joe Alfieri, earlier this year to win the Mid-Amateur Four-Ball Championship (South) and in 2014 Nakashian was crowned the Mid-Senior Champion. Nakashian will tee it up Sunday looking for his second Mid-Senior victory while Girardi will be playing for his first FSGA Championship win.
Glenn Przybylski, of Frankfort, Illinois, is in third place after rounds of 72-73 for a 145 (+1) total. Defending Champion, Stephen Anderson, carded two solid rounds of 73-74 to tie Joe Alfieri, 2015 Amateur Player of the Year and 2016 Public Links Champion, for fourth place at 147 (+3). Bob Levy, of Windermere, is five back in sixth place after shooting the field low second day score of two under-par, 70.
