The top of the leaderboard of the 2015 Mid-Senior Championship has no shortage of story lines through 36 holes.
Defending Champion R J Nakashian (66-70), of Palm Beach Gardens set the pace on roopening with 66 (-6) on the River Course. In round two, Nakashian would fire 70 (-1) to get to -7 and share the lead with 3 others.
Glenn Przybylski (71-65), of Frankfort, IL fired a second round 65 (-6) on the Harbor Course to jump up the leaderboard. Przybylski, a former Florida resident, is no stranger to success in the FSGA Mid-Senior. In 2012, he shared the 36 hole lead, and fell to eventual Champion Ken Moody in a sudden death play-off, and has posted top 30 finishes in the previous two years.
Eddie Kenny (69-67), of Lake Worth, the 2007 FSGA Mid-Amateur Champion, found himself in the lead early Round 1, firing 31 (-5) in his opening nine. Kenny would make two bogies to be 3 strokes behind Nakashian after 18 holes, but found his form again on the back-nine Saturday, firing 32 (-3) en route to a second round 67.
Stephen Anderson (67-69), of Hobe Sound, has won numerous FSGA Mid-Amateur & Mid-Senior Four-Ball Championships with Nakashian, and the duo recently made it to match play in the Inaugural USGA Four-Ball Championship, and looks like they are still feeding off of each others good play. Anderson, the 2010 & 2011 FSGA Mid-Amateur Champion, took the lead through 27 holes, while playing with Nakashian, but would shoot 1 over par on the backside, to fall back into the four-way tie.
Chris Berens (71-65), of Mount Dora sits one stroke behind, after posting 7 birdies on the River Course, en route to a bogey-free 65 on the River Course Saturday, and looks to capture his first Individual FSGA State Championship.
2011 Mid-Senior Champion, Michael Weeks (70-70) sits four strokes off the lead, alone in 8th place.
63 players made the cut at 152 (+9) or better. Play will begin at 7:30 AM Sunday morning on the River Course.
