Mid-Florida Junior Golf Tour

The Mid-Florida Junior Golf Tour began play as the Marion County Junior Golf Tour in 2013. The Tour was originally founded to provide a competitive outlet and learning tool for the participants of the local First Tee Chapter. In July of 2016, the Tour separated from The First Tee and began plans to expand operations to better serve all young golfers in North Central Florida. The goals are the same: provide a professional, competitive, cost-effective learning environment for young players to hone their skills to play at the higher levels of Junior Golf, High School Golf and eventually College Golf. The Mid-Florida Junior Golf Tour has a working relationship with the Florida State Golf Association's Florida Junior Tour. The FJT provides exemptions to our players who win Season Point Titles or perform well in our major championships. Beginning in the Fall of 2016 the Tour expanded operations into Alachua, Citrus, Sumter and Lake Counties; this should provide bigger, better fields of players to further enhance the competitive environment the Tour provides. In 2018 the Tour has added some exciting new venues and features. First and foremost is the Live Scoring provided by BirdieFire Golf. Every event in 2018 will have this Live Scoring feature so that parents, family and friends (and College Coaches!) can follow along online. Recently the Tour became partners with Next College Student Athlete. NCSA has helped over 300,000 student athletes earn scholarships. Most importantly the partnership allows Tour members access to all of NCSA’s services at a dramatically reduced rate. This means even more exposure for our players and Tour. In addition to the Live Scoring and College Recruiting Services, we have added some great new courses! Juliette Falls Golf Club, Black Bear Golf Club and Harbor Hills Country Club are new in 2018. Tour members also have access to dramatically reduced prices on equipment from Callaway Golf and apparel from Under Armour. Finally, both this summer’s MFJGT Match Play Championship and December’s MFJGT Tour Championship have been relocated to Ocala Palms Golf Club. This new venue provides a well-conditioned course along with the definitive challenge of tight fairways and small greens. 2018 will be the Tour's best ever!
