Rule 6.2 - Playing Ball from Teeing Area
This Rule applies whenever a player is required or allowed to play a ball from the teeing area when the player is starting play of a hole, or they will play again from the teeing area under a rule or after a stroke.
Teeing Area - The area the player must play from in starting the hole he or she is playing.
- This area is a rectangle two club-lengths in depth where the front edge is defined by a line between the two most forward points of the two tee markers.

- The ball is in the teeing area when any part of the ball touches or is above any part of the teeing area
- The player may stand outside the teeing area to play a ball from the teeing area
- A player MUST not move the tee-markers when playing from the teeing area. If the player does so, they incur the general penalty
- The ball may be teed or played from the ground
- The player may use a tee or "create a tee" by altering the surface with their club or foot
