Three Score Victory at World Golf Village

St. Augustine, Fla. – World Golf Village offered the perfect test for players teeing it up at this edition of the Winter Series. In the end, it was Shankar Natarajan (Mid-Amateur), Chad Ibbotson (Senior), and Earl Lanoue (Super-Senior) who came out victorious in their respective divisions.

Mid-Amateur Division

After Round One, the Mid-Amateur Division was tightly contested at the top. Jackson Sampselle, Shankar Natarajan, and Brett Riotto were all tied for first place with opening rounds of 76. Just one shot behind, Cortland Schofield held solo fourth with a score of 77.

In the final round, Natarajan kept his composure on his way to a 1-over 73 to secure a 4-stroke lead and claim the victory. Schofield finished in second, with Mark Allen rounding out the top three in third place.

Senior Division

Chad Ibbotson claimed the lead after Round One with a 3-over 75, which included two birdies—one on the front nine and one on the back. Jeff Kaufman followed closely in second place, just one shot behind with a 76. On day two, Bruce Sands made a strong move, climbing four spots up the leaderboard to tie Ibbotson and force a playoff. Ibbotson stayed steady and carded a par on the first playoff hole to clinch the victory.

Super-Senior Division

Earl Lanoue ended the First Round in commanding fashion, posting the only even-par score across all three divisions. With five birdies, he surged to a four-stroke lead over the field. Three players were tied for second at 4-over (76).

Lanoue maintained his lead throughout, securing a wire-to-wire victory finishing three strokes clear of the competition. Firing off rounds of 72-76--148 on his way to victory, Lanoue captured his first Winter Series win of the year.  Al LeFevre claimed second place, while John Milton finished in third.
