FJT Pam McCloskey-Brosnihan Open (16-18)

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. – The Club at Quail Ridge was buzzing with junior players on Sunday afternoon for the final round of the fifth annual Florida Junior Tour Pam McCloskey-Brosnihan Open. This tournament is held in honor of former Quail Ridge head golf professional, Pam McCloskey-Brosnihan. She passed away in 2014 from cancer at the age of 51. The winners of this tournament receive a membership to Quail Ridge. Furthermore, The Pam McCloskey-Brosnihan Foundation provides a scholarship through the FSGA each year to a junior who demonstrates determination, drive, and passion for golf. Pam was very passionate about growing the game of golf, and her foundation continues to do so in her memory.

Camden Goldknopf and Gabriella Albert captured the victory of the Boys and Girls division respectively. Goldknopf secured his first FJT victory shooting two consistent rounds of 69 and taking the win by two strokes. Albert takes home her third FSGA win of the season with a wire-to-wire victory carding scores of 67-73.

Boys (16-18)

Camden Goldknopf finished the first round tied for second. He overcame a one stroke-deficit over Sam Brown to capture his first FJT win. Goldknopf played a bogey-free first round, carding three birdies for a 69. Consistency was key for Goldknopf as he had only one bogey and four birdies in the final round to card another 69. He won by two strokes over his competition.

There were four players tied for second at four-under par: Aaron DeWitt, Sam Brown, James Earle, and Henry Robards. All four players delivered some remarkable rounds. However, Henry Robards carded the low round of the day with a score of 66. He had nine birdies during his final round including a four-hole birdie streak and a front nine total of 32.

Girls (16-18)

Gabriella Albert captured her third win of the season with a wire-to-wire victory. She carded a first round score of 67 with a two-stroke lead over Elisabeth Boershiem. Albert also played a bogey-free first round, highlighted with five birdies. Albert shot a 73 in the final round to secure the win by two strokes over the competition.

Remi Bacardi took second place with a tournament total of two-under par shooting scores of 71-71. Bacardi carded nine birdies over 36 holes.
