Chad Ibbotson | Ryan Prokay | Kevin Macy

DADE CITY, Fla. – The FSGA Winter Series made its way to Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club on Monday and Tuesday. In this Stableford format, Ryan Prokay picked up his second consecutive win in the Mid-Amateur Division, Chad Ibbotson was victorious in the Senior Division, and the Super-Senior Division was won by Kevin Macy.

Mid-Amateur Division

After round one, Prokay held the lead with 43 Stableford points, good for a two-point lead over Tyler Clippard and Brian Bassett.

A year after Prokay lost in a playoff in the Stableford event at Tampa Palms, he was able to hold on and win with a total of 87 points. Birdies on holes 17 and 18 helped him win by two points over second-place finisher Jimmy Kozikowski. This is Prokay's second win in two events to begin the 2022-2023 Winter Series.

Senior Division

Chad Ibbotson of Sanford, had a great start to the two days, making three birdies and an eagle in Round 1 to sit at 43 points, just three back of the lead held by Brian King. Another three birdie round from Ibbotson, and 37 points, was enough to get Ibbotson into a playoff at 80 points with King, where he would eventually go on the capture the win at the second Winter Series event of the year.

Super-Senior Division

Macy’s 42 points gave him a one-point lead over Mark Rubin heading into the second round.

Another strong round let the Tampa native win with 79 Stableford points, good enough for a three-point victory over Bradley Rollinson.
